Children Events This Summer at INTU Trafford Shopping Centre Manchester

Children Events This Summer at INTU Trafford Shopping Centre ManchesterChildren Events This Summer at INTU Trafford Shopping Centre Manchester

Managers of shopping centre complexes have long known the importance of pulling customers into their retail spaces. At one time, it was to entice customers to buy but in recent years, there has been more of a social appeal to events at shopping centres. With this in mind, the INTU Trafford Centre Manchester has a full calendar of events for children and their frazzled parents and grandparents right through the summer holidays.

LEGO Land Discovery Centre

Starting in May, the LEGO Land Discovery Centre is open right through the summer holidays until 4th September. It promises to be a very popular event throughout the weeks its doors are open, with footfall expected to increase significantly over the summer holiday period.

At Promotional Staff Manchester, we work with event organisers across Manchester and in the North West to provide promotional staff that contribute to making the event a success.

Why queue management is important

You may recall the pay-your-age promotion fiasco with high street retailer Build-a-Bear which happened in July 2018. Aside from the promotion not being entirely thought through, there were also issues with long queues forming outside of Build-a-Bear premises.

Queue management is an essential part of any promotion. Being caught by surprise doesn’t mean you can’t do anything about it. A call to a local Manchester promotional staffing agency means that queue busters and managers are on site to help manage the gathering crowds.

Pirates and Mermaids at Sea Life

Another popular event being held from now until September is a spectacular mermaids and pirates event at Sea Life.

There are those who believe in the magic of mermaids (and why not? They are as magical as unicorns in our book) and the swashbuckling adventures of pirates and mermaids on the high seas are enough to fuel the imagination of little ones.

Now imagine how children will love the appeal of a real-life mermaid swimming underwater, waving at them from inside the vast tanks at Sea Life! A great way to spend an afternoon or a morning, a conversation piece for weeks to come.

The Big Bug Tour

From the start to the end of July, the Trafford Centre Manchester is welcoming all kinds of bugs, bees and butterflies for children to find out more about as they take a tour through the amazing event that is the Big Bug Tour.

Focussing on 12 gigantic and beautifully designed bug, children get to safely explore the detail on insects and why they have the detailing they have on their bodies. Well worth a visit for anyone, no matter their age!

Bugtastic Book Reading

Running in parallel with the Big Bug Tour is the Bugtastic reading event at Waterstone’s in the Trafford Centre. If there is one way of encouraging children to read and explore the written word, it is when it mirrors something they are interested in as well as an experience they have just enjoyed, like the big Bug Tour.

Getting it right

With so many great events at the Trafford Centre, Manchester, it’s really important that the small details are thought about. It also means having plenty of staff on-hand to help families access and enjoy the events. And that means promotional and event staff who know how to make it happen.

What Festivals are Coming to the North West Summer 2019?

What Festivals are Coming to the North West Summer 2019What Festivals are Coming to the North West Summer 2019?

There are hundreds of festivals held across the UK each summer and from looking at the list of upcoming events in the north of the country, it seems that a good chunk of them are close to or around the North West. Better still, there is something for everyone.

The Dentdale Music and Beer Festival at the end of June is the perfect combination of live music, great beer, fantastic company, top off by a couple of nights under the stars. With plenty of hospitality staff on hand, this will be a great way to spend a few days with friends.
Not all festivals have to be raucous, loud events and so if you are looking for something a little more genteel, then the collection of events that make up the Furness Tradition Festival in Cumbria is right up your street. From the 12th to 14th July, the streets and pubs of Ulverston will be alive with live folk music and other amazing events. Why not swing on by and enjoy a gentler but still lively pace of life for a day or two?

Something for the family now is the Just So Festival at Rode Hall, Cheshire. From 16th to 18th August, you can enjoy all kinds of events from games to mysteries, to singing and concerts. Now in its tenth year, this festival is boasting its biggest event calendar yet and no wonder, as the event is so popular with local families and visitors.

With new areas planned for 2019, the organisers will be looking to fill these space with acts and performances that entice and enthral in equal measure. People don’t realise the full extent of the services we offer event organisers and certainly not for events for like this. For example, our ‘put up and pack up’ teams work quickly, efficiently and safely making sure that everything is where it should be, ready for when the event doors open.

There are hundreds of music festivals across the UK and one amazing event is right here in the North West – The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival. And it is big – there are over 170 acts booked to perform across 22 stages. You can’t afford to miss this amazing three-day festival! In its 30th year, it is an event that keeps on growing which it can only do with remarkable organisation, amazing acts and of course, brilliant support from festival goers. Behind the scenes, there are many other event staff who contribute to making this festival, and others like it, what it is. Our event staff are on hand to answer any queries that people have and of course, our marshals and stewards make sure that everyone stays safe, no matter what they do or where they are at the festival.

Coming up

There are other great events coming up such as the Manchester Folk Festival 2019 in October as well as Liverpool Irish Festival from mid to late October. But in the meantime, enjoy the summer and the rich tapestry of festivals on offer across the North West.

What Sales Promotional Staff Bring to Your Brand or Event

What Sales Promotional Staff Bring to Your Brand or EventWhat Sales Promotional Staff Bring to Your Brand or Event

It is a basic goal and one that every brand will share in common at some point – to sell more products. Promotions are the ideal vehicle to do just that because boosting sales figures is clearly something every brand would like to do.

Promotional staff are people with the experience and skill to get the most out of every promotional event, no matter what the product or service. Convincing customers that they are getting a great product for their cash, more customers will be willing to buy.

What are the pros of hiring promotional staff?

1. Showcase a new product

Maybe you have a new product to launch or maybe you have revamped a current one and want a re-launch promotion that showcases and demonstrates your product to a new customer base. If this is the case, hiring promotional staff is a great way of spreading the word and attracting attention.

2. Gain trust and increase engagement

Don’t underestimate the power a ‘simple’ conversation between a customer and a member of your promotional team can have. Neither should you underestimated a live demonstration or sampling event.

Buyers buy from people they trust and this means creating a good impression. It doesn’t matter whether you are a well-known brand or a start-up, if people feel they can trust you and your customer service is attentive and professional, they are more likely to buy.

3. Answer questions

Demonstrations are a great vehicle for answering the questions of potential consumers. It could be how something is best used or how to get the best results from using a product. The more people know about your product, the better.

Sampling staff can answer questions, as can demonstrators and promotional staff because they will do more than familiarise themselves with the product or service beforehand. They will get to know it, in-depth too.

4. Adding value to the shopping and buying experience

Adding value means different things to different people. But let’s take the example of free samples. Some people say never to give anything away for free but there is evidence that suggests it is a worthwhile exercise.

People who are given a free sample are more likely to buy – three times more likely to buy in fact. And it doesn’t end here. After their initial purchase, the 1,000 people questioned by a leading marketing research company, 78% claimed they would buy the product again such was the strength of positive association with the product and receiving a ‘free sample’.

Sampling in-store is not just for food, it can be other related items too. So rather than giving away a product, why not give away a free recipe card or a time-limited discount offer when they buy online… the options and possibilities are almost endless!

5. More sales

Let’s emphasise this again: promotional staff can close more sales if this is the goal and target you give them to work towards.

The last part of that sentence is important. For any promotional event to work and to get the most from hiring sales promotional staff, it needs to be powered by a strategy and fuelled by a plan.

Get it right and the promotional event could put your product and brand onto a stratospheric journey.

It isn’t all sell, sell, sell

Promotional staff are a shrewd bunch. They know that by talking with your customers they gain…

  • Valuable feedback about everything from the packaging to price point and more
  • More traction for your brand online too, encouraging them to share their thoughts and photos on social media
  • More traffic for your website (and social media) as they reach out and connect with people at events
  • Exposure for your brand by making sure marketing materials is put into the hands of your customer demographic

With trained and experienced promotional staff working with your brand, there are no limits to success. The question is, are you ready for it?

A Guide to Successful Exhibitions in Manchester for Beginners

A Guide to Successful Exhibitions in Manchester for BeginnersA Guide to Successful Exhibitions in Manchester for Beginners

New to exhibitions? Want to be confident that you will get the results you need from exhibiting at a prime event or exhibition in Manchester? You need this quick guide for exhibition newbies…

#1 Choosing the right event

Before you start planning your discounts or ordering leaflets, you need to be confident you have signed up for the right trade show or exhibition. You also need to be confident that exhibiting is the right move for your brand and that means looking deeper than the sales speak from event organisers.

Thus, take a look at the calendars of premium event venues in Manchester including Manchester Central and Event City Manchester at the shows, events and exhibitions they play host to.

The venue may not be the event organiser. Private event organising companies will organise specific events and so you will contact the event organisers for more information on costs and how to book.

What do you need to look at closely;

  • Number of attendees who will visit the show
  • Who attends? That is, are they have purchasing power?
  • Who else is exhibiting? The wider and more diverse the exhibitors, the wider and more diverse the people attending.
  • Cost and what you get for the cost of hiring a booth – is furniture and electricity included?

#2 Creating a plan

Like all other marketing activities, an exhibition strategy will clearly set out what you want to achieve at the show.

Objectives – or goals – should be SMART:

  • SPECIFIC
  • MEASURABLE
  • ACHIEVABLE
  • RELEVANT
  • TIME BOUND

For example, by the end of the two-day event, you want to sell 12 units to 12 new customers and capture contact details for qualified leads. Is this specific enough (it could be more detailed)? It could be achievable if you have the right staff with the right tools.

#3 Assemble a great staff team

Your stand is booked. Your strategy is in place. You have your marketing material ready and your not-to-be-missed deals and discounts.

Now you need your ace trade show team. These are the people who will make contact with delegates, discuss products and services, collect contact details and all the other things that will make your time at the exhibition a success.

They need to be reliable, have character and personality, they need to know all about your brand, products or services and they need to be comfortable and thrive on the pressure that a trade show stand or exhibition booth brings.

It’s tempting to assume that a team of employees will do the job just as well but what you may find is that not everyone enjoys the experience. It can be stressful, hot and very tiring.

It can also be disappointing if your goals are not reached.

Hiring a team of experience promotional staff for a Manchester event may seem like a cost too far, especially if you are a start-up but spending this extra cash will bring a higher ROI.

Tapping into their experience and using their skills for selling and capturing details from your customers will yield fantastic results.

Hired exhibition staff can do much more than sell too!

In summary

This is a very quick overview of how to make exhibitions in Manchester work for your brand. Will this be the year your brand flies high at an exhibition?

Promotional Staff or Sales Teams? Why Promo Staff at Your Next Manchester Trade Show is the Best Move

why use promo staff at trade showsPromotional Staff or Sales Teams? Why Promo Staff at Your Next Manchester Trade Show is the Best Move

Research proves what we have known for years – it is the booth staff that attendees from trade shows and exhibitions remember after the event doors have closed.

Face-to-face engagement is what our Manchester exhibition services are all about. Taking time to make that all important first impression, you can be forgiven for thinking that any exhibition staff team will do.

But the research also shows something else – sales teams may not be the most effective at a trade show or exhibition. What you need is a promotional staff team. But why?

#1 Engagement before sales

Connecting with potential customers is the reason why most brands choose to exhibit at trade shows and exhibitions at Manchester Central or Event City, or for in-store promotions at busy places such as InTu’s Trafford Centre.

Trade shows and similar events are important ‘touchpoints’ for clients and brands. Your customers can meet you and find out more about the human side of the brand, and you get to ‘see’ your customers.

This is an important starting point and not one that needs to be clouded by a sales team leaping on someone at their first point of contact with your brand. Just think how much information a promotional team could glean from the people who are your customers through conversation?

Impressions count – and the hard sell impression leaves a bitter after taste for many potential customers.

#2 Keep your sales team where they are most effective

Promotional teams are all about the brand, extending its reach, connecting and engaging with people.

A sales team is all about meeting sales targets.

Both bring certain qualities to the table but it may be that your sales team should be left in the place where the ae most successful – and that is, making sales to qualified leads away from the trade show or exhibition, information that was possibly supplied to them by the promotional team in the first place.

#3 Promotional staff can qualify leads

And this leads nicely onto the skill that many of our promotional people have – qualifying leads.

Trade shows and Manchester exhibitions are fundamental in the marketing plan of many businesses large and small. From the hundreds of people the promo team will talk to over the duration of the event, they will qualify each one.

They will gather details of people interested in hearing more from you and they will also qualify how ready to buy they are. They will give valuable leads to your sales team for clients who have the purchasing power and ready to buy.

#4 Information gatherers

We have already hinted at the value of the information and feedback that promotional teams can gather at key Manchester trade shows for your brand.

In the days of GDPR and heightened fears relating to security breaches, data being lost, stolen or hacked, sometimes an ‘old-fashioned’ conversations and anonymised feedback is the way to gather the information that a brand needs.

People also feel valued when they are asked what they think of something or how to improve it. This in itself is a form of subtle selling – raising brand awareness and leaving people with a great impression could mean they are more likely to buy from you over your competitors.

The right people

Exhibitions are busy places, as are trade shows. Attracting attention, engaging with people striking up a conversation and so on are all skills that can be learnt but there is also character to consider.

Hiring professional promotional staff for Manchester events means that asking your own people to do something they are not trained to do and are uncomfortable in that environment can be avoided.

Professional promotional people are organised. They know how to strike up a conversation and optimised the results you want from a trade show.

It makes sense to find out more about what a professional promotional staffing agency can offer your brand, especially if it means getting more from your next trade show.

How to Plan an Effective Leafleting Campaign in Manchester

How to Plan an Effective Leafleting Campaign in ManchesterHow to Plan an Effective Leafleting Campaign in Manchester

Manchester is a large city, a thronging metropolis with a diverse population, a proportion of which are your customers. Reaching your customer demographic can be done with numerous marketing vehicles, from online marketing and social media to offline marketing tactics.

Leaflets, flyers and postcards are printed materials that can – if the copy is right, the deal attractive and the call to action strong – make a difference. But flyers also need to be put into the right hands.

Intelligent flyering services is when marketing team identify people who are your customer demographic and make sure they not only get a flyer in their hand but also a positive impression of your brand.

Successful flyering in Manchester means…

#1 Determining your budget for the project

Manchester is a big city and so deciding which areas you want to cover will impact on time and resources including the costs of producing the flyers in significant quantities. Get it right, and you could find your leaflets making an impact during busy shopping times in the city centre.

#2 Designing a winning leaflet or flyer

Our street marketing teams can and do make a positive impact for our clients. To ride this success you need to be confident in the design and content of your leaflet. This means making sure that;

  • Content hits the mark in terms of the right balance of information and marketing speak
  • Brand colours are foremost along with your logo and other key elements of your branding kit
  • Graphics support your message and not detract from it
  • Offers and deals are attractive

#3 Tracking your offline marketing efforts

Measuring offline marketing tools and campaigns can be notoriously difficult. Some experts go as far to say that this difficulty in tracking and measuring its success means that some offline marketing campaigns may not work as well as we hope or desire them to.

However, with an attractive deal that includes customers using a code to access it, you have a firmer idea of which flyering campaigns in Manchester worked. You can code each batch of flyers accordingly to the area, day and so on.

#4 Being environmentally aware

The modern consumer is a savvy one and one who has growing concerns around waste.

Clearly, you don’t want flyers fluttering along Manchester streets and neither do you want bundles of leaflets left over once the flyering campaign is over.

Think carefully about the paper or card options, as well as the number of leaflets your order.

#5 Professional street marketing teams

You could, if they are agreeable, send out your whole team to leaflet every passing person.

From the reception team to accounts, using your own staff may make sense. However, invest in professional street marketing teams and you WILL notice a difference in uptake of your leaflets and thus, the number of customers who access your deal.

#6 Being clear as to the customer target

You have a customer demographic but if there a customer you specifically want to target?

Maybe it’s the student population or a certain age group, either way knowing who you are aiming your street flyering campaign in Manchester at will also contribute to it being successful.

Black Friday 2018 in Manchester!

Black friday Manchester - hire extra staffBlack Friday 2018 in Manchester!

Will you be one of the thousands of shoppers flocking to the Trafford Centre and beyond for the best deals on the day? Or will you be one of the many brands and retailers offering amazing deals in the run-up to Christmas?

If you are, you will have some idea of how busy Black Friday is. But why did this event start?

And why do retailers from high street brands to small businesses get involved?

A Shopping Phenomenon

Black Friday started a few short years ago in America and is a shopping day that boasts huge deals. Held the day after Thanksgiving in the US, British retailers soon caught hold of the idea.

Black Friday will be on 23rd November 2018 and for retailers and shoppers alike, it means a crazy day of amazing savings across a range of goods from TVs to microwaves, fashion to toasters.

Which retailers get involved in Black Friday?

Most high street and online retailers – around 75%, in fact – are thought to offer some kind of Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal to shoppers.

Some retailers offer savings and flash sales in the days running up to Black Friday, with some online retailers releasing deals and savings every day.

Shoppers still need to be savvy, making sure that the product they are buying, even if it is heavily discounted, can provide what it is they need and want it to do.

What about consumer rights?

Consumer rights are not affected by Black Friday deals and discounts. If the item is faulty, it can be returned but it is just as important to keep the receipt as proof of purchase.

How retailers prepare for Black Friday

Since the banking collapse of 2008, many countries, including the UK, were plunged into the nightmarish state of austerity. This meant that the country as a whole was on a budget.

For consumers, it meant very little disposable income. With all markets sluggish, it means retailers found it hard to shift goods. Big high street names, once the staple of the economy, went to the wall. We lost Woolworth’s, for example, and BHS also disappeared from retail parks.

Toys R’ Us also disappeared and with John Lewis attempting to ride out a wobble with Sports Direct at the helm, Black Friday is a chance to salvage some profit from the year’s trading.

And of course, being so close to the festive season, shoppers are looking for bargains on gifts.

Thus, preparing a marketing campaign is key, all of which is backed by genuine deals for the customer.

With the right mix of marketing and merchandising in store, any retailer can expect queues around the block.

As a retailer, you will need to think about hiring temporary sales staff for the duration of Black Friday, as well as additional security for managing shopping queues.

As you would expect, Promotional Staff Manchester can do all that and more. So, don’t get caught out – hire temporary sales staff with no hassle of fuss from a leading, local promotional staffing agency by calling 0844 800 0071.
